Keep Dreaming-Wrap up

After two years, the Keep Dreaming project has come to an end. It’s been a wonderful journey where we’ve learned about the connection between young people’s mental health and their active participation in their communities, the effects of the covid-19 pandemic on youth’s mental health, and how to help young people manage their mental health during participation activities.

From 2022-2024, the project has taken us through a transnational study on the relationship between mental health and youth participation, a training course on tools to manage mental health in youth participation activities, a social media campaign to raise awareness on mental health and youth participation, a youth exchange about participation and well-being in youth, and an online multiplier event to spread the project results and discuss other areas of concern such as burnout in youth workers. Throughout these two years, we’ve met remarkable young people and dedicated youth workers who contribute significantly to opening the discussion on mental health on a daily basis and are committed to helping others have a positive participation experience.

Keep Dreaming has taught us a lot about the world around us and how to make it a better place. It has inspired us to keep supporting young people and providing them with spaces and opportunities to connect and be a part of their communities. It has shown us the importance of these kinds of activities, how they can be affected by young people’s mental health, and their potential to spread positive mental health practices.

Partners Fundación Plan B Educación Social, Idee in Movimento, Volunteers Centre Skopje and IntermediaKT are confident that Keep Dreaming will live on and continue having an impact in our communities and beyond. This will happen through the Transnational Study and Toolkit, Social Media Campaign posts, and the firsthand experience of participants from the in-person project activities as well as the project managers themselves.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the project and always remember that taking care of our mental health is essential in ensuring a positive participation experience! 🙂
